But why the name ‘Scandal Point’ has been given is a mystery. The name is given from the disorder caused by supposed departure of British lady with Indian Maharaja. Then the Maharaja of Patiala had run away with the daughter of British Viceroy from this point. Because of this British authority expelled the Maharaja from entering into the Shimla and hence the name given as ‘Scandal Point’. Maharaja of Patiala then made another town at Chail near Shimla.

The most noticeable feature of this place is a statue of Indian freedom fighter ‘Lal Lajpat Rai’. This is a popular spot for all age grouped peoples.
