Bharmaur – Dalhousie Tourists Attraction

Dalhousie is a stunninghill station in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Name of the city is derived from the named of British Governor General Lord Dalhousie in 19thcentury. All these temples stands on a level area call as Chaurasi after the 84 Siddhas who are believed to have meditated in Bharmaur 1000 years ago. These Siddhas call from Kurukshetra and visited Manimahesh. Lakshna Devi and Ganesh are the oldest temples in Bharmaur. With gable roof and rubble masonry these temples are made in hill style.  The outer and inner façade, circum ambulatory path of this sanctum are beautifully carved. Manimahesh is the tallest temple in this area which is built in Shikhara style architecture. Brass bull stands in front of temple is a major attraction.

Nar Singh is another temple in Shikhara style. It contains brass image is Narsingh.  As per legend Lord Vishnu in his Nar Singh avtar has been cast vividly. In the corner of temple there is a small water source called Ardh Ganda. Many people come here to take a bath in this water so that all their crimes are vanishes.Its creation by Rani Tribhuvana – rekha is mentioned in a copper plate writing of Yugakara, son of Sahilla and may, therefore be placed in the 10th or 11th century. Country around the Bharmaur is regarded as belonging to Shiva and is also called Shiv-Bhumi. There is a Bharmani Devi temple just about 4 km above Chaurasi temples.

Chail Wildlife Sanctuary – Shimla

This park is spread in an area of 110 square km. Chail wildlife sanctuary was identified in 1976 and was declared as a protected area under government consideration. In 1988 Chir Pleasant breeding and rehabilitation program has been launched.

As per history Chail wildlife sanctuary once served as the hunting ground of Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh. He was founded in this hill station after banished from entering Shimla following his elopement with daughter of Lord Kitchener of British Indian Army Commander.

Kangchenjunga – Darjeeling

Third highest mountain in the world is Kangchenjunga with an elevation of 8586 m in a section of Himalayas called Kangchenjunga Himal. Kangchenjunga is the official spelling accepted by Douglas Freshfield, A. M. Kellas and the Royal Geographical society that indicates the Tibetan Pronunciation. There is various alternative spelling which includes Kangchen Dzonga, Khangchendzonga, Kanchenjanga, etc but the final selected word is Kangchenjunga came from his Highness Sir Tashi Namgyal, the Maharaja or Chogyal of Sikkim.

This sanctuary also allowed for trekking both at Kalatop and Khajjiar.

This is one of the most conveniently located and well-connected wildlife sanctuaries in Himachal Pradesh. Beautiful stream that meets Ravi /river in the north flows through the sanctuary is treating as ornithologists.Best time to visit this sanctuary is between April to June and October to November. It needs 3 to 6 hours to explore the whole sanctuary. These tidily maintained zigzag roads of the sanctuary make it awesome strolling path to the visitors. Temperature of this place varies from 10 degree to 35 degree Celsius.

Tiger Hill Sunrise – Darjeeling

From here Mount Everest is just visible, tweeting out through two other peaks standing by its side.  Kurseong is also visible to the south on clear day and in the distance, along with Teesta River, Mahanadi River, Balason River and Mechi River twisting down to the south.

Darjeeling weather can be change anytime. Fog and the mist come from nowhere and put a white blanket all around. In fact looking at the weather and the sky in Darjeeling there is no indication of how the weather may be at tiger hill. Trekking

There are two approaches at Tiger Hill for trekking.

1)      Tensing Norgay road from chowrasta mall area is free from motor traffic, leads through villages of Toong Soong and Aloobari. This route goes through tea gardens and through Allobari Monastery, and then finally meets with the hill Cart road at Jore Bungalow. Tiger hill is 5 km climb up from here to the top and takes 2 hours to climb.

2)      Gandhi road goes via forests area and lots of rhododendrons on the way.hill cart road meet to Gandhi road at Ghoom area from where climb to tiger hill starts.
