HOW TO REACH
Travelling to Sikkim is quite easy, as it is well linked to almost all major cities in India via rail, road and air.
Bagdogra is the nearest airport which is just 124 kms (at a drive of 5 hours) away from Gangtok. There are daily flight to this airport, flying from Calcutta, Delhi and other North Eastern parts of India. Helicopter to Gangtok are also available at Bagdogra.
Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri are the two closest railway stations, which are at a distance of 114 kms (at a drive of 4 hours) and 125 kms (at a drive of 5 hours) from Gangtok respectively.
By main roads, Gangtok is well connected to Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri and many other important centers in India. While coming to Gangtok, you will get a great experience of road driving, with the dense forest above and mighty Tista river below.
When to visit?
You can visit this state in any of the seasons, but still the ideal season to visit Sikkim is between March and May.
