Scandal Point – Shimla Tourists Attraction

Summer capital of India during British Raj, Shimla is one of the most beautiful hill stations in Himachal Pradesh. Shimla is a unique with its incomparable beauty located at an average height of 2,200 m. Shimla looks stunningly beautiful during autumn season when days are pleasant and amazing. It is a famous spot in famous city and the most visited spots by tourists. Scandal point is located on the Mall road joins Ridge road on the west side. But why the name ‘Scandal Point’ has been given is a mystery. The name is given from the disorder caused by supposed departure of British lady with Indian Maharaja. Then the Maharaja of Patiala had run away with the daughter of British Viceroy from this point. Because of this British authority expelled the Maharaja from entering into the Shimla and hence the name given as ‘Scandal Point’. Maharaja of Patiala then made another town at Chail near Shimla.


The most noticeable feature of this place is a statue of Indian freedom fighter ‘Lal Lajpat Rai’. This is a popular spot for all age grouped peoples. To hear the age old story of this place from the guides tourist gather here every day. This point is considered to be the highest point in Shimla and has various shops and restaurants. Scotland Church is also one of the attractions of this place. The famous Alfa restaurant having some mouthwatering Indian foods as well as western food, and the picturesque view of the town is a beautiful feature of Scandal Point.


Along with this Scandal Point, many other tourist spots are also there in and nearby Shimla, which attracts thousands of travellers every year.
